Spades is designed for keyboard efficiency. This guide covers all available keyboard shortcuts to help you navigate and estimate issues quickly.

Command Bar - Primary Entry Point

Main Command Bar

  • Shortcut: Cmd+K (Mac) / Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux)

  • Description: Opens the main command palette with all available actions

  • Features:

    • Search functionality for commands

    • Visual list of all available shortcuts

    • Grouped by category (Suggestions, Settings, Other)

Keyboard shortcuts are automatically disabled in the following contexts:

  • Text Input Fields: Comment fields

  • Open Dialogs: When modal dialogs are open

Suggestions

The most commonly used shortcuts appear in the "Suggestions" section:

  • Previous Issue (J)

  • Next Issue (K)

  • Estimate (Ctrl + 1, 2, 3, 5, 8)

  • Select Team/View (Cmd/Ctrl + G)

Keyboard-First Estimation Session

  1. Cmd+K → Open command bar to see all options

  2. Cmd+G → Select team or view

  3. J/K → Navigate between issues

  4. Ctrl+[number] → Submit votes quickly

  5. Click results to set estimate in Linear

  6. Repeat navigation and voting for next issues
